Ashwagandha, Withania somnifera
Parts used: Root.
Constituents: Alkaloids, steroidal lactones, saponins, iron, Salicylate 32µg per mL.
Actions: Adaptogen, Anti-inflammatory, Tonic, Rejuvenative, Antiarrhythmic, Sedative, Hypotensive, Aphrodisiac, Anti-tumour, Anti-microbial.
Indications:
Immune dysfunction, insomnia, fatigue +magnesium, anxiety, clarity.
Alzheimer`s disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, HIV support, memory loss.
Chronic diseases marked by inflammation.
To the immune system, nervous exhaustion especially due to stress, stress, debility, emaciation and anaemia (especially in children), convalescence after acute illness or extreme stress, it stabilizes foetus.
Mild, manic depression, alcoholic paranoia, and schizophrenia, panic attacks, stress induced stomach ulcers.
High blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Cortisol.
Impotence due to devitalisation.
In high doses, may be preventative in cancer, after chemotherapy.
Ginger can increase tonic effect, or other pungent or heating herbs.
