Parts used: Herb before flowering.
Constituents: Volatile oils, Tannins, Glycosides, Saponins.
Actions: Expectorant, Antitussive, Antidepressant, Diaphoretic, Anti-microbial, Diuretic, Carminative, Alterative, Stimulant.
Indications:
Coughing, tight chest, asthma, pleurisy, Bronchitis, whooping cough, catarrh.
Depression, memory loss, disorientation, shock, coma, fainting.
Fevers, colds, flu.
Intestinal infections Topically for animal bites.
Flatulence, colic IBS, indigestion, diarrhoea.
Adrenocortical deficiency, disinterest in sex, low libido, impotence, infertility, promotes clear thinking.
Herbal extract: 30-60mL per week.
Energetics: Pungent, sweet, bitter, dry, Warm. Dosha: VK- P= (+ in excess).
Meridians: kidney, lung, spleen.
Contraindications: Pregnancy.
