Parts used: Root and rhizomes.
Constituents: Triterpene glycosides, Isoflavones, Aromatic acids, Tannins, Resin, Ranunculin, fatty acids. Minerals: potassium, magnesium.
Actions: Uterine tonic, Anti-rheumatic, Emmenagogue, Parturient, Antitussive, Sedative, Anodyne, Anti-spasmodic.
Indications:
Menopause, fibroids, irregular periods, dysmenorrhoea.
amenorrhoea, pms with sore breasts, headache, irritability.
Hot flushes +Red clover, Sage and phytoestrogens.
Muscular rheumatism, sciatica, rheumatoid arthritis, intercostals myalgia.
Estrogenic effect, alternative to HRT, aids labour, clotting, ceases postpartum bleeding, softens cervix.
Whooping cough, bronchitis, nervous cough.
Nervous and reproductive systems, uterine problems, tinnitus +Mg.
Acute depression with fear of evil.
Neuralgia, myalgia, muscle tension (shoulder), uterine/ovarian/prostate pain, cramping pain, cramps, fibrocystic in back of neck.
Herbal extract: 10-20mL per week, max 60mL.
Energetics: Bitter, pungent, cooling. Dosha: V+PK-.
