Boneset, Eupatorium perfoliatum

Constituents: Sesquiterpene lactones, Polysaccharides, Flavonoids, Vit C.
Minerals: Calcium, magnesium, potassium.
Actions: Diaphoretic, Anti-catarrhal, Laxative mild, Aperient.
Indications:
Influenza, fevers.
Nasopharyngeal catarrh, acute bronchitis.
Bitter action contributes to laxative action therefore good for constipation due to poor liver function, liver congestion, jaundice.
BHP specific, for influenza with deep aching and congested respiratory mucosa.
Herbal extract: 10-30mL per week.
Energetics: Bitter, pungent, astringent, dry, cooling. Dosha: PK-V+.
Meridians: lung, liver, spleen.
Caution: Toxic in high doses.
