Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium
Parts used: Flowering herb or leaves only.
Constituents: Sesquiterpene lactones, Volatile oils and Flavonoids.
Vitamins: A, C, B3.
Minerals: High amounts of iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium.
Actions: Anti-inflammatory, Bitter tonic, Migraine prophylactic.
Indications:
Inhibits IgE2, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism.
Indigestion.
Preventative for migraine headaches, Vasodilator.
May prevent blood clotting (do not use with blood thinning drugs).
Herbal extract: 5-15mL per week, acute 5mL max 6 times in a day.
Energetics: Bitter, pungent, cooling. Dosha: V=PK-.
Meridians: spleen, liver, lung.
Contraindications: Pregnancy.
