Figwort, Scrophularia nodosa
Parts used: Flowering herb.
Constituents: Saponins, Cardio-glycosides, Flavonoids, Iridoids, Phenolic acids.
Actions: Depurative, Diuretic, Purgative, Cardio-Stimulant, Lymphatic.
Indications:
Eczema, psoriasis, pruritis, chronic skin problems, boils acne, chronic constipation.
Stimulates organs of elimination.
Poor circulation associated with a skin condition.
Works on glands, lymphatic cleanser, glandular fever.
Delayed and scanty menses with blood clotting.
Herbal extract: 20-40mL per week.
Energetics: Cool, dry, pungent, bitter, sweet.
Meridians: liver, heart, large intestine.
Caution: tachycardia (cardiac stimulant).
