Constituents: Sesquiterpene lactones, Phenolic acids including cynarin, Flavonoids.

Actions: Hepatoprotective, Trophorestorative, Cholagogue, Choleretic, Diuretic, Alterative, Hypoglycaemic, Anti-cholesterol, Hypothyroidism, Anti-obesity.
Indications:
Hepatitis, fatty liver, alcoholism, drug abuse.
To the liver, Increases bile production without impairing liver function and increases excretion of cholesterol and solids in bile.
Dyspepsia, nausea, IBS, chronic constipation, anorexia.
Mild oedema, mild renal insufficiency, arthritis, Arteriosclerosis, Ascites (portal hypertension).
Lowers LDL and triglycerides levels in patients with heart disease.
Obesity, Inulin rebalances the bowel.
Herbal extract: 15-30mL per week.
Energetics: Cooling, very bitter, sweet, moist.
