Parts used: Root.
Constituents: Anthraquinones, tannins, phospholipids such as lecithin, trace elements.
Actions: Nervine Tonic, Antioxidant, Anti-ageing, Anti-cholesterol, Bitter tonic.
Neurasthenia especially with insomnia.
Weak connective tissue, Premature ageing, Tinnitus, dizziness and blurred vision, longevity, Tonic for elderly.
High blood cholesterol.
Possibly in nervous system diseases such as epilepsy, neuritis and schizophrenia.
Polygonum tones the vital essence and blood and fortifies muscles, tendons and bones, knee and low back pain and numbness of limbs.
Herbal extract: 30-80mL per week, higher doses for lowering cholesterol.
