Tansy, Tanacetum vulgare
Parts used: Herb.
Constituents: Volatile oil mainly thujone, Sesquiterpene lactones, Bitters, Flavonoids, Terpenoids.
Actions: Anthelmintic, Emmenagogue, Carminative, Spasmolytic.
Indications:
Worms, Bitter tonic, Amenorrhoea, very good to regulate the cycle in young girls.
Dyspepsia, Nausea, Nematode infestation.
Externally as a lotion for scabies.
Herbal extract 1:5, 5-20mL per week.
Energetics: Bitter, pungent, cooling. Dosha: PK- Vo.
Meridians: liver, spleen, stomach, bladder.
Contraindications: Pregnancy, lactation. Do not use continuously for long periods of time.
