Constituents: Anthraquinones, Tannins, Volatile oil, Resin, Nutrients, Iron.
Actions: Cholagogue mild, Laxative, Alterative, Blood Tonic, Astringent, Tonic.
Indications:
Jaundice, liver and bile congestion, hepatitis.
Increases peristalsis - atonic constipation.
Cleansing toxins from lymph and bowel, gout, cysts, arthritis, rheumatism, blood cleansing - mastitis, breast lumps and bumps.
Big general cleanser, toxemia.
Skin conditions, psoriasis, eczema Swollen glands, glandular tumours.
Nutritional use: contains lots of iron; can be used in stews like other root vegetables.
Anaemia, iron tonic (Nettle also).
Herbal extract: 15-30mL per week.
Energetics: Astringent, dry, bitter, cooling. Dosha: V+PK-.
